I received a call from 412-532-0176, which came up as Public Assistance on my Caller ID. The automated message that came on, when I picked up, said that "there was still time to save on my PP&L bill" and to have my account number ready. It then gave me the option of dialing "0" to speak to someone about my service or to dial "0" if I just wanted to speak with someone. That's not a mistake - both options were "0." I chose the second option and got a live person within seconds. She asked for my account number, to which I said, " I don't have PP&L. Why are you calling me?" She disconnected without saying a word. I called the number back and got a voice mail telling me to press "1" if I wanted to be removed from their calling list. I pressed the number and disconnected. So, now I'll wait and see if there are more calls before taking further action.
Caller ID Read Public Assistance. I did not answer and he/she/it did not leave a message. And obvious SCUMBAG!
The question below... Are they a scammer? I'm guessing yes. Based on comments above and the fact he/she/it did not leave a message and "Public Assistance"? For what? Public assitance does not make calls... you contact them. Asstated above... a SCUMBAG!
My caller ID said "Public Assistance"
*make enough money*
