I got a call and made a date with the guy on the other end! Score!
It's Verizon. If you are late paying your bill, these people will call you. First they call and should you not answer, tthey'll leave a message. If you still don't answer, they will text you.
Been called four times in two days. Called back and received automated voice mail insisting on speaking to account holder, not me, whose number they're using. What I want to know is how they got our information? Is verizon allowing this info to be leaked? This is obviously a scam since Verizon never calls but writes emails and also allows you to speak to an operator. Also it was supposed to be calling for "changes in account info" and the number sent me to "message retrieval"
Absolute scam. I asnwered and some lady said she was calling from Verizon, but in order for her to continue she needed to have me give her my password, for security purposes. I laughed and said, "you called me, you should know who I am! I'm going to report this call to Verizon and to the police." Then she just hung up.
Received call about one hr after paying late cell bill didn't answer.
Called me 14 times in 8 minutes. Never left a message.
It's because you havnt paid you bill with them real number
I am a former Verizon customer but do not have an account with them currently. I received a call today from (323) 404-9261. I let it go to voicemail, and there was an automated recording saying this was the "Verizon Wireless Message Retrieval System", and for me to call (800) 249-2462 for a message about "my account".
I then called the real Verizon Customer Service Number listed on their website, (800) 922-0204, and they confirmed that this call was fraudulent and this number is not associated with Verizon Wireless. They said they have been getting lots of similar reports lately.
